About Us
Get in touchFounded in 2012 by Reena Bilen, Newy with Kids is an online family magazine providing trusted information about family attractions, activities and events to parents and caregivers who reside in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & Hunter region.
After her daughter was born, it was one of the happiest times of Reena’s life, but it was also one of the most challenging. Going from full-time work surrounded by other adults to being at home with a new baby on 12 months maternity leave was an adjustment.
Life started to feel a bit like Groundhog Day with every day the same as the one before. Reena wanted to get out with her baby but didn’t know where to go as she didn’t grow up in the region (she’s originally from Canada).
She thought it would be really useful to have a website that contained information on local attractions, events and activities for parents with babies and kids. So she started one!
More than 10 years later, Newy with Kids is a popular online publication for locals and tourists. Whether it’s information on playgrounds, cafes, school holiday activities, kids concerts or events, Newy with Kids provides readers with information about things to do with their families.
